Corporate Social Responsibility: The Ana Valdivia Foundation

More often than we realize or are prepared to admit, we are carried away by the frenetic rhythm of our everyday lives. Work, personal problems, relationships and deadlines always take priority, focusing on our own dreams while ignoring the complicated situation that others nearby to us are living.

Such is the case of many families who have been told that their child has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Statistics tell us that 1 in every 303 children has cerebral palsy, a disability that affects a person’s capacity to move or maintain equilibrium, often caused by an injury to the brain during childbirth or problems during early psychomotor development. Despite this figure, early diagnosis, palliative care treatment, guidance and assistance for affected families are usually scarce and generally insufficient.

The Ana Valdivia Foundation “Children with Cerebral Palsy” has been working since 2007 as a point of reference in Spain, providing valuable assistance for the children and their families. Its support network provides initial help for parents, advice on therapies, adapted academic help and the organization of group activities and sports, helping to integrate the children into society.

Optomation Systems adds its grain of sand to this voluntary organization. We donate a percentage of our yearly profits to help support the Foundation’s effort, while participating in their activities throughout the year.

Feel free to visit their website www.fundacionanavaldivia.org where you can read about, participate or collaborate as you wish.

Many thanks
