Working from its central offices in Madrid, Optomation Systems is the exclusive distributor for Opto 22 for Spain, Portugal, and North Africa. The company is responsible for the promotion, sales, distribution, installation and after sales support of OPTO 22’s products in these areas The company is also responsible for the development of a complete support network, including integrators, consultants, and suppliers that offer services, local support, and compatible products that complement those of OPTO 22. Optomation Systems has notable experience in industrial applications, includes a dedicated group of factory-trained engineers, and is also a recognized training centre, certified by OPTO 22 to supply training for their hardware and software products. Optomation Systems is supported directly by the factory in Temecula, California. The synergy between OPTO 22 and Optomation Systems strengthens the possibilities of OPTO 22’s products, offering commercial and technical support, local stock, spares, and after-sales service, in addition to wide experience in technology and product integration. OPTO 22 was the pioneering company behind the development, design and production of solid state and optically isolated relays. In 1974 the company introduced a range of 22 SSR relays, the origin of the companies name. Generally recognised as the first company to connect industrial I/O to computers and PC’s, OPTO 22 was responsible for the industry standard protocols and hardware, OPTOMUX and PAMUX, emulated by many other companies to create modern industrial communication standards. An original cofounder in the development of OPC technology for industrial applications OPTO 22 is considered as the company who promoted and introduced the use of Ethernet TCP/IP as a communication network for I/O systems and industrial control, when most companies where only promoting proprietary bus based architectures. Today OPTO 22 offers a wide range of industrial devices to implement acquisition and control systems, from powerful controllers, to a complete range of input, output and communication modules. All of these are complemented by a complete software suite allowing the programming, configuring and remote diagnostics of supplied hardware, and also the creation of powerful graphical HMI interfaces.
